WHAT IS KWANZAA CRAWL?

KWANZAA: A Holiday Celebrating BLACK Community, Family, and Culture + CRAWL: The Act of Traveling By Foot From One Bar To Another

DECEMBER 26, 2024

Kwanzaa Crawl is the largest event supporting Black-owned businesses.

Thousands of Kwanzaa Crawlers will be divided into over 70 different teams, as they travel from bar-to-bar singing and dancing, dressed in whatever makes them feel unapologetically Black and beautiful.

It's a day of UNITY, FELLOWSHIP, and FUN!

The crawl is focused on the social aspect of building community and aims to facilitate economic empowerment within our community.

GET YOUR CRAWL ON!

  • STEP 1: join a team

Reserve your spot by purchasing your ticket for a team. You’ll get your Kwanzaa Crawl® wristband, which gives you access to participating venues that welcome Kwanzaa Crawlers with DJs, food, and drink specials. You’ll also get a Kwanzaa Crawl® cup, while supplies last.*

  • STEP 2: get your wristband

Wristbands are needed to participate, so you’ll need to get them BEFORE the event.

Wristbands can be picked up in person December 21 - 22 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. You’ll be able to also the Buy Black Pop-Up Shop and Specialty Cocktail Tastings by Casamigos!

You can also get your wristbands mailed if you purchase shipping before December 8th. Wristbands will arrive to you by December 20.

  • STEP 3: dress up!

Wear whatever makes you feel unapologetically Black.

It can be African-inspired/influenced clothing, an HBCU sweatshirt, tees that say "Big Hair Don't Care," etc.

Dressing up is not required, but c’mon son. Be a team player. #UNITY

  • STEP 4: turn up!

On December 26, meet with your team at the Kick-Off and learn more about the mission. Kwanzaa Crawl is a party with a purpose. Kick-Off starts around 12:30 PM, so it’s a full day affair!

Each team has an official Kwanzaa Crawl® team leader. They'll have bullhorns with music to facilitate the move from bar-to-bar while singing and dancing. Sing and chant with your team as you make your way to multiple black-owned venues throughout a night of collective black ass business.

Turn Up on the floor. You already know.
